About Us
The OakTree Community
OakTree Community Homes are affordable, cooperative, living residences for individuals who can not otherwise qualify for traditional housing. Our homes place a high value on independence, friendships, a healthy lifestyle, and medical care. Our mission is to enrich the life experiences of the individuals we serve by providing affordable, quality, all-inclusive living environments that focus on treating people with dignity and respect. By providing opportunities for active, engaged, and purposeful living, we hope to benefit not just our residents, but also their families, our staff, and the greater community.
Since we began, our organization has provided a wide variety of special needs populations with all-inclusive affordable housing. We are committed to providing our clients with clean, safe, all-inclusive living arrangements that cannot be found elsewhere.
Our Process
Our process focuses on our core belief and philosophy that the personal, physical and spiritual well-being of our clients must come first. We take an inter-disciplinary approach to our management as well as a team approach to our service offerings. We partner with numerous local and state non-profits as well as governmental entities in order to best meet the needs of our community.
Application and Screening Process
Unlike most providers that have a check-list of requirements, we prefer to take a holistic approach. Most of our clients typically originate via a shared referral source. Often times this could be a doctor, nurse, case worker, social worker or even another clients’ family. Doing so allows our qualified staff to better understand the special needs of the particular client and therefore make a decision.
Our Mission
Our mission and philosophy stems from four key components: Respect, Empathy, Self-Learning and Pride Of Ownership. We personally believe that housing is a universal necessity that creates positive change for all of humanity. With housing and the above key-tenets, we believe that we can impact change and help our clients better their lives. Our mission is simply to improve the lives of our clients through affordable, all-inclusive housing environments which are centered around respect, empathy, self-learning and pride of ownership.
Our Vision
Our vision is to be a safe haven of shelter, support and structure for those in need.

Demographics We Serve
We have been the premier provider of housing and related services for the “special needs” population since we set up our first group home. In fact, many people in the community refer to us as the pioneers in the industry!
Our operations team has a background in providing housing for the following target demographics:
MHMR With Cognitive and Behavioral Health Conditions
We are the premier MHMR housing organization catering to the special needs of people diagnosed with mental health, mental retardation, mental illness, and other developmental and behavioral health related issues. Our MHMR group homes and other special needs and disabled group homes have allowed us to become the most highly regarded MHMR housing organization in the local area. We are committed to providing a caring and compassionate environment for all our special needs clients.
Disabled Veteran and Returning Veteran Housing
We have homes that are specifically set up for Veterans. Our veteran and VA housing provide residential care homes and group homes for both disabled and non-disabled Veterans. We work directly with the VA and all affiliations of the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines to ensure that our servicemen are provided with quality and safe housing upon return home. We provide group home and transitional living residential care homes for Veterans of the armed forces throughout the local area.
Elderly Care Housing and Group Homes for Seniors
We also provide housing for the elderly and seniors without any disabilities! Many seniors these days are elder, on fixed incomes, and in need of low-income and low-cost housing in a group home living environment. That is where we can assist. We have many properties that are specifically designed and managed for elders and seniors on fixed incomes.
Sober Homes and Group Sober Homes
Our organization provides and operates sober homes for those with addiction and alcohol and drug-related problems. We have many properties that are specifically designed and managed for those with dependency-related issues such as alcohol and drugs. These homes maintain a drug and alcohol free environment similar to all our other homes, but also come with mandatory AA classes as well as alcohol and drug counseling.
We have other residential care homes that are particularly designed and set up for individuals with particular needs. Some of those needs are:
Group Homes and Residential Care Homes for Autistic people
Group Homes and Residential Care Home for those with a particular disease
Group Homes and Residential Care Homes for the blind
Group Homes and Residential Care Homes for the deaf
Group Homes and Residential Care Homes for those who have suffered brain damage and other brain trauma
Come discover affordable housing and cooperative living the way it’s meant to be. Pay us a visit to meet some of our wonderful residents, or give us a call to chat with a staff member.
If you are in need of housing and are not a part of these demographics,
please contact us today to see if we’d be the right fit for you!
It is not more bigness that should be our goal. We must attempt, rather, to bring people back to...the warmth of community, to the worth of individual effort and responsibility...and of individuals working together as a community, to better their lives and their children's future.
